Kanab, Utah

About an hour after Mark's family cleared out of the house, my parents came to stay with us for a few days. My parents rented a house down in Kanab, Utah, and we were excited to spend Memorial Day weekend hiking and hanging out with my family. Unfortunately, it rained most of the weekend, so we didn't do nearly as much hiking as we originally anticipated. But it was just fun being together. All three of my brothers were there with their families. Highlights from the weekend include a visit to the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, s'mores on the deck, and cornhole. For one day, Mom and I babysat all the kids while the rest of the adults went off hiking at Bryce Canyon. It's just so much fun spending time with family.

Time with the Cousins

The wedding weekend was really just a quick in and out trip for both of Mark's older brothers. Stephen and Sara left on Sunday to spend time with her sister. Peter and Becca were in and out visiting with friends and other family members. However, we did spend one day on Temple Square with Peter's family. It worked out perfectly because Elwin was spending the day out on the spires of the Salt Lake Temple as part of the historical site review he's working on. We arrived just as they were coming out onto the spires. We had fun walking around Temple Square and going up to the observation deck of the Church Office Building. Along with lunch at the City Creek Mall, it was really fun day. And to think we get to all get together again in August for Michael's wedding.

The only way to get a family picture was to pretend
we wanted one without the kids. That brought them pretty quickly.

John's Wedding

Mark's brother John got married on May 16th in the Logan Utah Temple. It was the first time since my wedding that all of the siblings were together. Since the wedding was in Logan, we got to play host to everyone. I've decided I really enjoy hosting large groups. I've done it with my family often enough, but this was my first large Robison gathering. Peter and Stephen didn't come in until Friday night, so I didn't have to play host long. It was fun to see everyone and meet little Nicholas. The sealing was in the morning, and we left all the kids with two of John's high school friends (who were also the photographers). Luckily, Michael's girlfriend (now fiancee) Angela was also on babysitting duty. I'm told Matthew cried the whole time. The reception site was at an old church in a nearby town whose name I have forgotten. I thought it was gorgeous. It had the most beautiful windows, and their were all these levels. The kids had a blast running around. The funniest feature was that the upstairs had this gigantic suite for the bride's changing room. It was huge. And the groom's changing room was literally a little closet. After the reception, we headed back to our house for pizza and a reunion with many of the Dunstan clan, Elwin's sister's family. It was a beautiful wedding, and I'm excited to have Brooke as part of the family. John couldn't have chosen better.

Matthew's 4th Birthday

For Matthew's 4th birthday, we spent the day at my Aunt Christine's house. My cousin Kaelyn received her endowment at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple, and Mark and I were able to attend. Since we were already having a family get together, we just did Matthew's birthday cake and presents after the luncheon. While I was putting together his train, Matthew was really upset and kept telling me he didn't like it. I was really shocked, because I thought he would love it. However, once someone pointed out that it was a train carrying cupcakes on the wagons, he loved it. When we left, I dropped Mark and the kid off at the train station in Daybreak and then drove up to the Layton station and picked them up when they arrived. The kids had a lot of fun riding the Trax and then switching to the Front Runner.
