Safari Park

Our passes to the zoo and Sea World also included admission to the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park. After we checked out of our hotel Friday morning, we drove the Safari Park, which was in Escondido, on our way north. I was terrified it was going to start pouring on us, but luckily the rain passed us by. The Safari Park is like Jurassic Park but with animals instead of dinosaurs. They have a huge Africa savannah exhibit that you take a tram around. The exhibit was full of rhinos - which Matthew loved - giraffes and antelope. All in the exhibits in the park just seemed larger than at the zoo. And there were almost no cages. For example, there was a monkey island in the middle of a lagoon. Mark kept suggesting that they should occasionally release the lions into the big African savannah to see what happens.
